The Catalyst: A creators’ collective

The Catalyst invites young people to join an exciting creative collective where they explore, create and debate. Our programme gives young people the opportunity to work with artists, photographers, film makers, and sound designers, and sign up for a mentor who will offer career and wellbeing support and advice. You’ll be able to meet new friends in a relaxed environment. The programme is free and open to anyone aged 12 to 24 living in East Sussex.

Hot food, refreshments and help with transport are available at all workshops.

Mentoring

The Catalyst provides both 1:1 and group mentoring to give young participants specialist career and mental health support and advice. Mentoring sessions take place during workshops and afterwards in community settings or online. Mentoring can range from light-touch check-ins and signposting to more intensive support and are tailored to the needs of the individual.

The Catalyst has a peer network, using Slack, which enables participants to share ideas, artwork and knowledge. There will also be socials and events, which will help those involved to stay connected with each other.

The Catalyst is supported by Make (Good) Trouble and East Sussex County Council.
