Media Training Workshops

At Make (Good) Trouble, our Media Training Workshop equips young people with the skills, confidence, and practical experience to communicate effectively in professional media settings.

Empowering young people to share their stories with confidence

Through hands-on sessions, participants learn how to handle interviews, tell their stories clearly, and navigate real-world media challenges.

We are flexible in terms of student numbers and workshop duration. We offer anything from a 2-hour session to a series of workshops covering topics such as interview techniques, public speaking, fronting social media content, and more.

Media Training Workshop overview

Our workshops are designed to be interactive, supportive, and grounded in real-life media experience. Young people work together to develop practical skills while learning the principles that make communication compelling and professional.

What participants will do:

  • Set goals & plan: Introduce their campaigns, set objectives, and create a checklist to guide the session.
  • Learn interview skills: Explore different interview types, active listening, body language, and how to ask effective questions.
  • Hands-omedia practice: Experience the roles of producer, interviewer, and interviewee; use audio and camera equipment; capture “hero shots.”
  • Simulate live scenarios: Rehearse timed interviews with no retakes to practice pacing, clarity, and handling mistakes confidently.
  • Build confidence & delivery skills: Voice coaching, microphone technique, and strategies to manage nerves and unexpected situations.
  • Reflect: Review learnings, revisit the checklist, and receive follow-up guidance including CV support.
