Health and Safety Policy

Each person who works with Make (Good) Trouble will agree to abide by this Health and Safety Policy. It is made available on our website.

Our aims

Make (Good) Trouble C.I.C. is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for everyone involved in our work, including staff, volunteers, participants, trustees, freelancers and members of the public.

We do not have a permanent office and work mainly through community projects, events, workshops, meetings and remote working.

Responsibility

Overall responsibility for health and safety sits with Tayler Cresswell, Company Director and Safeguarding Lead.

Everyone involved with Make (Good) Trouble CIC also has a responsibility to:

  • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others.
  • Follow any health and safety guidance provided.
  • Report hazards, accidents, incidents or concerns as soon as possible.
  • Ask questions if they are unsure about how to do something safely.

Risk assessments

We will carry out risk assessments where appropriate for our activities, workshops, events and projects.

Any significant risks identified will be managed through suitable control measures to help keep people safe.

Events, workshops and other activities

When using community spaces, partner venues or outdoor locations, we will:

  • Check that the venue or location is suitable for the activity.
  • Consider any health and safety risks before the activity takes place.
  • Share relevant safety information with staff, volunteers and participants where needed.

Remote and home working

People working remotely should:

  • Work in a safe and comfortable environment where possible.
  • Take regular breaks from screens.
  • Raise any concerns about their health, wellbeing or working conditions with the Director.

Accidents, emergencies and safeguarding

Procedures for dealing with accidents and emergencies are set out in the Make (Good) Trouble CIC Accident and Emergency Policy and Procedure.

Safeguarding concerns involving children, young people or vulnerable adults must be managed in line with the organisation’s Safeguarding Policy.
